hi all
For all that knows this venue, just returned from fishing a match their i had no bites on 1lb line 24hook, there was no ice on the water.
We had 8 on the car park lake and 2 on the middle lake.
The carp park usually fishes well, but when we arrived there was thousand s of carp scales on the bank around all lakes.
only 1 angler managed to find a few carp 17 infact for 25lb, 3lb was 2nd from the same lake, 2lb 2oz from the car park lake was 3rd (1 carp) 4th had 8oz (17 roach).
I asked chris the owner if she had a fish kill to which she replied iv'e lost one or 2 carp, i then asked her what all the scales were to which she replied she did'nt know.
I suspect a fish kill, can anyone shed some light, i know its been closed for a few weeks and we have had a bad winter.

Something doesn't look like it's right, its normally quite a prolific water even in the depths of winter

However our lot fished Gold lake at Gold Valley, that was very hard as well, even taking into consideration they fished worm and joker

Wouldn't take much as the car park lake is 2-2.5ft deep at most!

Or maybe when it was frozen over for a month like most lakes around this area they lost a load due to this.

Terry, How did it go at Frog Island the other week?
Hello mate
it fished quite well considering 2 inches of ice.
We smashed 10 peg out to 11m 4 people went home.
10lb 10oz of roach won it opposite the island.
8lb 3oz of roach second next to the island.
3rd had 7ld 2oz of roach.

and the lowest weight was 2lb 6oz.
1 bloke had a half pound carp.
apart from that it fished well considering we were all happy.
all the best

Hello mate
the 1st 3 lakes are connected car park, puddle and middle.
all the other lakes are not connected.
the back lake ain't bad but down the far end in the trees is the out and out flyer (right hand side)
The lake next to it the old match lake can be very hard.
Ps let me know how you get on.
ps dont take any other bait than maggot, pinkie and a bit of corn for the bomb

hi terry
just to let you know how it fished today
carp park pond 7 pegs top weight 11lb second 7lb others blank or ozs
middle pond 6 pegs fished best everybody caught a 2 / 3 carp top weight 20 lb
top pond 5 pegs top weight 22lb second 7lb fish caught late in match

fished better than expected considering condiions - cat ice

angler lost his glasses in car park pond scooping for them he pulled out the rear end of a carp properly munched
top pond an otter was spotted 3 times going in out of water might explain a few things

Hi all,

Did anyone tell chris about what you saw? Longmoor farm had the same problem a few years back, Peter got the local council involved and they got rid of the mink straight away
