Maggot Dusting

Apart from making your eyes water and everything stink and turn yellow, is there any real advantage to be gained from dusting maggot's with turmeric.?:confused:

Turmeric is a very fine powder that keeps maggots soft, it also adds a spicy flavour and a bronze colour to them.

When I buy maggots I ask for them to be riddled and I add turmeric at home.

I will do this whether I am fishing a commy or a river.

Maybe the flavour helps, maybe the colour helps but without doubt the maggots are lively and degreased.
