After watching the final live last year, I was all up for trying to get on some qualifiers this year, but I can't seem to get motivated for them and probably wont bother again. Are any of you lot going for them, and where do you fancy your chances?

I have enjoyed a couple of qualifiers over the last 2 years just from the "big match" perspective but don't think I will make the effort this year as want to be more selective.

Dont think ill bother again.
Prob cause i asked for all 16 venues 2yrs ago and never got one. I even rang them up and the best place i was, was number 210.

I'll be trying for 6 qualifiers. I treat them as a day out, don't expect too much but you never know when you might get that lucky draw.
Putting in for the qualifiers is one thing, getting a ticket though is another.
I also get to meet up with people from around the country that I only see once or twice a year, and if you draw crap, you can always go and watch one of the superstars who's drawn well.:)

I'm going for all 16, got 10 last year fished 9 of them, buggered them all up. If I make the final I'm filling it in big style, that's the method on Arena at the moment . 27 babies heads, that's the amount I get from a big green sensas bucket, actually I get 29 but I'm throwing two at the bloody smirky cameramen in the middle.

Might do but then again might give the other lads a chance and not apply ;);)

as the master says if you aint in it you cant win it. i never really expected to get to the final last year until i drew a flyer and you realise well this is your chance. a bit of luck at the draw is all you want.

I'll be going for 6 this year, last year i had 3 the year before 8 so this year i probably won't get any, its a great day out mixing with some top class anglers and you never know. The best i've done to date is 4th at eye kettleby, last year though i drew 2 good pegs at woodlands and barford and blew them, next time.

a couple of years ago, I managed to get 4 qualifiers, and even managed a section win at Lindy on Oasis with a massive 2lb 6oz!! Ha Ha Ha tis true! :D
Last year, I applied for 4 and never got a sniff!
The matches are great, and like has been said, rubbing shoulders with the top lads is great, however, we can do that with some of the MFS matches!
I still might decide to have a crack, like Bodge and his Baldship have said, if you aint init you cant win it!
The prices have been increased though havent they?

Applied for Tunnel Barn and Cudmore 2 or 3 years ago and got em both, put in a bit of practice on tunnel to give ourselves half a chance on the day and really enjoyed the experience with the atmosphere, the banter and meeting up with a few TF lads. The highlight of the day was seeing Nigels topkit fly over!!
I keep thinking I'd like to have another go but Ive realised Im a million miles away from competing in a qualifier let alone the final. But you don't get many matches of that size so I'd advise anyone to have a go just to experience it

Usually apply for about five and await the draw to see if any tickets arrive. If you're lucky enough then you need to have a positive attitude and hope for a good draw. With a quality feild (as are all fisho qualifiers these days) then the drawbag needs to be very kind.
If you get a good draw make the most of it! If not, treat it as a day out play the percentages and fish for your section. With 90% going for a win which is highly unlikely from a large amount of pegs then you give yourself a chance of a section win and travel home with that warm feeling as opposed to going for broke not enjoying your day and feeling cheesed off at the end of the day!
Simply there are two choices-:
You cannot win from a lot of pegs, so make the most of the day.
Take your chance, fish to win from any peg if you want to be in the final.

I'm applying for 10 this time out. Got six last year, hopefully better that this time, but lets not get carried away.
My approach this year will be to fish each venue to my strenghts and try not to fish the vogue methods and try to take the locals on at their own game. Obviously, gleaning as much info as possible from those ITK is invaluable, draw from this what you can and apply it to your own approach. Bob Bradford was worth his weight in gold last year for me and Cleggy, regarding Barford, (which was a venue I'd never seen before) and helped us out no end.
